# Software License By Status Report

The **Software License by Status Report** provides a consolidated view of software licenses categorized by their current status (such as In Stock, Allocated, and Inactive) across different locations, enabling better visibility into license distribution and availability.

#### Report Usage

This report is used to monitor license distribution, identify unused or inactive licenses, and optimize allocation to support service requests while reducing unnecessary procurement.

> 
> An IT Asset Manager uses this report to identify inactive SQL Server licenses and reallocates them to fulfill pending user requests instead of purchasing new licenses.

**Steps**

To view the **Software License by Status Report**, perform the following steps:

1. Navigate to **Reports > Asset Management** to open the dashboards page. Search for **Software License by Status Report** from the Dashboard list.

#### Filters

Enter the details as described in the following table and click **Apply filters** to view the report or **Clear all** to reset the filters.

| Field | Description |
| --- | --- |
| Tenant | Specifies the Tenant to filter the report data, allowing users to view software license information for a specific Tenant. |
| License Name | Specifies the name of the software license to filter the report, enabling users to view details for a particular software product. |
| Status | Specifies the license status (such as In Stock, Allocated, or Inactive) to filter the report, helping users analyze licenses based on their current state. |
