# Change Type

You can configure or modify the Change Types for Change Records (CRs) under a Tenant. You can add a new Change Type and map it to a configured Source Change Type. To configure Change Types, perform the following steps:

2. From the left pane, hover and click **Add New**.
3. Select **Department** from the list.
4. Enter the required details specified in the following table and click **Submit**.

| Field | Description |
| --- | --- |
| Source Change Type | The Source Change Type refers to the reason category of a Change Request. It classify how or why a change initiated, providing context for evaluation, prioritization, and tracking. For example; Emergency, Normal, and Standard |
| Change Type | Specify a name to the Change Type in the Change Type textbox. |
| Active | The Change Type will displays as an option in the Change Type list on other application pages. By default, the checkbox is selected. |

#### **ACTIONS**

This section explains all the icons displayed on the ACTIONS panel of the Change Type page.

#### Show List

Click **Show List** to display the List table showing all the Change Types configured in the application for the selected Department.

**Change Type ID** column in the **LIST** table displays the ID associated with every configuration.

- To edit a Change Type, click the configured **Change Type**. Make the appropriate changes and click **Submit**. You cannot modify the Master Change Types.
- To display the inactive Change Types, click the **Include Inactive** checkbox.

> 
> When the Change Types are displayed under the LIST table, the ADD NEW action is displayed on the ACTIONS panel. Click ADD NEW to add a new Change Type.
