The Asset List query in AIW enables you to view and manage assets assigned to you. The list displays key details, Asset ID, Asset Type, Category, and Location.
Access is governed by role-based authorization, ensuring that you can view only your assigned assets. Unauthorized actions are restricted and logged. Clear error messages and validation feedback guide you effectively.
User Persona: End User
Why does it matter?
• Visibility: Provides end users with accurate, up‑to‑date information about their assigned assets.
• Self‑service efficiency: Reduces dependency on support agents by enabling users to access asset details independently.
• Security and compliance: Enforces controlled permissions, blocks unauthorized access, and logs all restricted actions for audit purposes.
Use Case: Asset Inquiry
Scenario: End User Asset Lookup
An end user asks the AIW, “What assets are assigned to me?”. The AIW retrieves the list of assets assigned to the user from the system. Key details such as Asset ID, Asset Type, Category, and Location are displayed. The user refines the results using filters or sorting options to quickly locate a specific asset.
If the user attempts to query another person’s assets, the system validates the request against role‑based authorization policies and displays:
“Not Authorized – You are not authorized to view assets for another user. You can only view and manage your own assets.”
Outcome: The user gains immediate access to accurate asset information without raising a support ticket, improving visibility, reducing service desk workload, and supporting the best practices for efficient self‑service.
