This Unmapped Guest Software Usage (Virtualization) report provides a comprehensive listing of software usage on virtual devices that are not currently associated with a physical host. For each software instance, the report presents detailed information on relevant attributes, such as software name, version, and configuration. By highlighting virtual devices without a mapped physical host, this report enables organizations to identify gaps in their virtualization management, ensure proper tracking of software assets, and maintain accurate records for compliance and optimization purposes.
Usage
This identifies and analyze guest software usage on unmapped virtual devices, supporting license compliance, usage tracking, and reconciliation efforts in software asset management.
Example
A user reviews the Unmapped Guest Software Usage (Virtualization) report to identify virtual machines that have software installed but are not linked to any physical host. They find several unmapped devices and update the host associations to ensure accurate tracking. This helps maintain compliance, improve virtualization visibility, and optimize software license management.
