Article summary

Currently, the IT Asset Management application facilitates the relocation of assets within the same fixed asset category through Store or Floor movements.

To illustrate this functionality, consider an Asset inventory comprising four categories: Laptop, Desktop, Monitor, and Printer

While multiple assets can be chosen for relocation, they must belong to the same category. For instance, if we intend to move four assets from a single store to a specific floor, all four assets must be of the same category.
In other words, only four laptops, not a combination like 2 laptops and 2 desktops or 1 laptop, 1 desktop, 1 monitor, and 1 printer, can be moved together.

Feature Overview

To address the challenge of being limited to a single asset category selection for store and floor movements, this feature introduces the capability to select multiple fixed asset categories from a single store. This enhancement allows users to directly choose multiple asset categories on the Asset Inventory list page.

Configuration

The configuration of this functionality involves two steps namely,

STEP 1: Initiate the Store Movement for multiple fixed asset categories by selecting assets on the Asset Inventory list page and perform the store movement along with linked accessories.
STEP 2: Generate a single Gate Pass (single movement ID) for multiple assets movement.

Let's understand each configuration step in detail.

STEP 1:

Initiate the Store Movement for multiple fixed asset categories by selecting assets on the Asset Inventory list page and perform the store movement along with linked accessories

Prerequisite:

For a Fixed Asset and its associated Accessories to be included in the store movement action, there must be a relationship or link established between them. This connection is necessary before the allocation of the assets.

To perform the above action, perform the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Asset > User > Manage Assets > Asset Inventory.

  2. Select Fixed Asset on the Asset Inventory page.

  3. On the Fixed Asset LIST page under FILTERS option, select the desired Tenant and select Status and Category as ALL and click Submit.
The Fixed Asset LIST page is displayed based on the selected criterion.

  7. Select Display Linked Accessories check box to check the details of linked accessories for the chosen fixed assets.

    Info

This information is displayed on the same page immediately after the checkbox selection.

Select Display and Include Linked Accessories checkbox to initiate the movement of linked accessories along with the fixed assets.

    Note

The linked accessories will not be deallocated separately while fixed assets are deallocated.

  8. Provide necessary inputs in other fields and click SUBMIT to initiate the store movement.

STEP 2:

Generate a single Gate Pass (single movement ID) for multiple assets movement

To perform the above action, perform the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Asset > User > Manage Assets > Approvals > Print Gate Pass.

  2. On the FILTERS pop-up, select the Tenant, and Movement ID (if available) and click SUBMIT
The Print Gate Pass DETAILS page is displayed with all the approved movements based on the selected criterion.
