Bulletins widget helps to display crucial information announcements or updates on your company portal.
User persona: Application Designer
Use Case User persona: Administrator | Solution |
Service Management-based company has scheduled website maintenance on the last working day of every month. Sandra, the Administrator wants to communicate the maintenance alerts across the organization. | Sam can use Bulletins widget in the designer element and configure it to call the scheduled downtime message in the Bulletins widget. |

Configure Bulletins Widget
This section contains the list of steps using which Application Designer can select the Bulletins widget from the Service Portal design screen.
To configure the Bulletin widget, perform the following steps:
- Navigate to Design Service Portal > Widgets > Bulletins.Figure: Adding Widgets
- Customize the Service Portal by dragging the Bulletins widget from the widget list screen.Figure: Bulletins
- Click the Settings icon for this field to view the Properties pop-up.

Properties
This section contains the list of properties using which the Application Designer can configure the respective widget feature. To know more about the fields available under the Properties section, see Field Description below.

Title | Enter a title to the Bulletin using the Title text box. Here Important Announcement(s) is added as Title. Figure: Title |
Tenant | Select the Tenant from the drop-down list to display department specific announcements. Figure: Tenant |
Show Title | Enable the title for Bulletins. If enabled title appears and if not, title will not get displayed. Figure: Show Title |

This section contains the list of features using which the Application Designer can select formatting properties for the Bulletins widget.

Bulletin Style | Select the appropriate style from the Bulletin Style drop-down list. Figure: Bulletin Style |
Marquee | Marquee style enables bulletin to scroll text scroll horizontally across a screen or display. The screen appears as shown below. Figure: Bulletin Style Select Elements to Include under Marquee Bulletin Style. It allows you to select the elements of the widget that should be displayed in the dashboard. Vertical Roll | Vertical Roll style enables the bulletin to slide up and down automatically. The screen appears as shown below: Figure: Vertical Roll field values Specify the count of maximum characters under the field value. Figure: Maximum characters Select the node and line color from the color palette for the bulletin style. Figure: Node Color Figure: Line Color Here #072bf5 is selected for node and line color. Select the background color for the bulletin. You can pick the required color from the color palette. Here #ffffff is selected for bulletin background. Refer to the screenshot for more details. Grid View | Grid View style enables the bulletin to load infinitely in a list form one below the other. If you select Grid View, then the screen appears as shown below: Figure: Grid View Here Bulletin Header is specified as default under Include Elements for Grid View Style. You can select the elements of the widget that should be displayed in the dashboard as required. Refer to the screenshot below for more details. Figure: Grid View |
Carousel | Carousel style enables the bulletin to load one after the other with the help of left and right arrows. Define the time interval to automatically slide the bulletins using the Slider Interval textbox. Figure: Carousel Here Bulletin Header is selected under Bulletin Header by default and Interval is specified as 5 sec. Refer to the screenshot below for more details. Text Type | Select the appropriate text type format from the drop-down list. The Text type can be changed for the widget if required. Figure: Text Type |

Text Style | Select the appropriate font style from the drop-down list. Text Style allows for the selection of one or more styles (bold, italics, and/or underlined) simultaneously. Figure: Text Style |

Color | Select the desired color for the border. Click the default color cube to load color palette and select the desired color tile.Figure: Color |
Radius | Select the border Radius by selecting desired radius from the Radius slider. If Radius is selected as zero, then the corners are sharp and if the radius is increased, then the corners become rounded. Figure: Radius |
Dimensions | |

Dimension | Select the widget's height and width from the drop-down list. You can set the height in pixels (px) and the width in both percentage (%) and pixels (px). Using a percentage for width allows the widget to fill the container's width. Figure: Dimension Here Height is specified as 317 px and Width is selected as 94.64 % for the widget. Click Save to save the widget properties in the Service Portal designer screen. If you want to discard the properties, a pop-up window appears on your screen asking for confirmation to cancel this configuration.
You can navigate to the Service Portal screen and check the configured Bulletins widget.
