Streamline Efficiency and Unify Data using Common Master Data Management!

Common Master is a unique feature that allows Administrators to set the most commonly used label names and drop-down values across all modules. If a change or addition is required in the label names or drop-down values, this feature saves the Administrator from having to make the same changes on each page separately. In other words, it simplifies the customization process that Administrators must perform for the most commonly used label names and drop-down values.

Sam is an application designer who wants to create multiple Service Catalog for different Tenants.  To configure multiple Service Catalogs for different Tenants, Sam would need to spend a considerable amount of time and energy in creating Service Catalogs for each Tenant manually. Hence, instead of modifying the Tenant for each Service Catalog individually, Sam can do so in the Common Master page and map it accordingly so that the Service Catalog can be accessible in multiple Tenants across the Domains and Sub Domains.

Master Type

The term "master type" refers to the classification or categorization of different types of master data within the Common Master. For example, in a Common Master dataset for employees, you might have different master types such as "Employee Personal Information," "Employee Contact Details," "Employee Job History," etc. Each master type contains specific attributes or fields related to that category of master data.

In summary, a "master type" in a "Common Master" dataset would denote the classification or categorization of different types of essential data that are standardized and shared across various systems or processes within an organization.

Under Master Type, there are two options namely,

1. Creating Master Type.

2. Publishing Master Type.

Creating Master Type category can be further divided into two sub-categories namely System Defined Master Type and User Defined Master Type

Let's explore the same in the following sections.
