User Persona: Application Designer

Solution
Sandra wants a feature called Name Every Group Entry that allows users to customize the names of security groups for various organizational units. This feature is needed for managing security settings for different departments within the organization. John, the Application Designer can select User Attribute Group and configure the group Implement role-based access controls to restrict access to the security settings and naming feature. Within the template, he can provide fields for users to set the Alias Name (e.g., "Location") and specify the Column Name (e.g., "Security Group Name"). Include a checkbox labelled Name Every Group Entry that users can toggle on or off. When enabled, it allows users to customize the names of individual security groups.

Add Attribute Groups


To add Attribute Groups, perform the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Design Studio, select Application and Module for creating new Groups.

  2. Here you can go and configure the name of the group under the Group Name field.

    The example shows the screenshot of the Groups with IT Security as the Group Name.

  3. Select the User Attribute for configuring Group. The Alias Name can be added for each User Attribute!

    Here we have selected User Attribute as User Name and Alias Name as User Name. By clicking the Add Row, a new field is added under User Attribute.

  4. You can delete a specific condition by clicking the delete icon. If the group values are already entered based on a specific field (for ex: Location), then deleting the schema results in the deletion of all the associated entries and values.

  5. Specify the name of the column for Every Group Entry and click Submit to the save template details.

    For Alias Name as Location, Column Name is entered as Security Group NameIf you enable the checkbox Name Every Group Entry, then you can name every group entry under the Column Name. Make sure your template is Active!

Add Group Members

This section contains the list of steps for configuring the Users Group from the Static Group.

  1. Navigate to User Attribute Group (IT Security) >User Attribute Group Details > General(Security Group Name).
  2. Under Group Criteria, specify the User Name and Email ID.

  3. You can select By Users and By Groups for adding new Users. If you have selected By Users, then enter the first name of the User in the text field.

  4. If you select By Groups, then you should enter the first name of the Group in the text field.

    Before we can choose a user By Group here, the Static Groups must be configured.
  5. You can select, add and filter based on By Users and By Groups. Click Select Users By Filters to select and add new Users.

    The Filters window gets displayed as shown below and you can add multiple users at a time by clicking on the filter icon adjacent to the user control! 
  6. You can Add a Condition or Add a Group under Filters to add new Users.

    Filter the users based on user attributes: Username, User Email ID, Location, Designation, Address, Date of Joining, and Reporting Manager.

  7. Select the User List based on multiple attributes by clicking the Filter icon.

  8.  Once you have entered the Filters, click Update. Then the Users matching the filtering criteria get reflected in the grid view as shown below:

    You can select, add and filter User By Groups.

    The filter based on Group ID, Group Name and Group Unique ID is displayed as shown below.

    From the list, you can select the Group and disable the Active button. If you click Yes, Deactivate, then it deactivates the User Group in related attributes!

    The deactivated Group gets displayed in the grey color under the drop-down list.

    If you enable Include Inactive, then all the active Group template gets displayed in the drop-down list.
