Configure Static Group

A static group is a simple group comprising of a group name and group members. These groups can be used across different places in the application.

The following actions are performed on Static Groups:

Configure Static Groups

This section contains the list of steps using which Administrator can configure the Static Groups.

Selecting the specific Application and Module for creating new Static Groups. To configure the Static Groups, perform the following steps:

  1.  Log in as App Administrator.

  2. Click the Application Group tab and select an application.
    Example: Application Groups will be configured as IT, HR, Finance, etc, and Applications are Asset Management, Service Management, etc.

  3. Click the settings gear icon on the top panel, navigate to Design Studio > Applications > Groups > Static Groups.

  4. Click New to configure a new Static Group.
  5. Enter Group Name and select Users from the Search field.

    For the field description, refer to the following Table:

    Field

    Description

    Group Name

    Enter Group Name.
    Example: IT Operations, Finance, etc. According to the business requirement define a name for the group.

    Group Users

    Select Users by entering the user name in the Users field. Usually, there could be multiple users with same names across different domains. Hence validate the domain name and select the required User.

    Example: Search Fredrick, all the names that start with Fredrick is displayed in the dropdown list. Select the required name.

    Active

    If this is enabled, it indicates that Static Group is active across the application and can be used. Active switch control is enabled by default in the configuration screen. 

  6. Click user icon to add multiple users at one time.

  7. Click Update for changes to take effect on the field.

  8. Click Submit to complete the configuration or Cancel to discard the configuration.
    You will be able to see the configured Static Group in the List.
