System Defined Master Types are noneditable and predefined by developers. In System Defined Master Types, name of the Master Type cannot be changed.
To understand System Defined Master Types, let us create a Master Type by performing the following steps:
1. Navigate to Platform Studio > Platform Masters > select Common Master.
2. Click the Master Type drop down.
On selecting a System defined Master Type, the Add Master Value button will only appear if selected System Defined master type is editable (i.e., a master type that will allow App Designer to add new value).

Use Case User Persona: Administrator | Solution |
Sam, an Administrator wants to select a System Defined Master Type named Information Master. | In this case, the Add Master Value button will only appear if selected System Defined master type is editable (i.e., a master type that will allow Application Designer to add new value). On selecting an un-editable (i.e., a master type that will not allow App Designer to add new value) system defined master type, Add Master Value button will not appear. |
