Use Case
Solution
Admin Fredrick wants to develop a component to keep track of the time and efforts used to address inbound Incident requests and to view those details in an Incident Form.Fredrick can drag and drop the Effort Widget on the Incident form and configure the widget by providing relevant details in Properties, Advance, Validations, Appearance, and Security.

Configure Effort

To configure Effort Widget, perform the following steps:

  1. Navigate to General tab of Form Designer. Enter all mandatory details required for the Form.
  2. In the Design Form tab, from the left pane select Widgets > Effort.
  3. Drag and drop this control inside a panel to create a Effort field. 
  4. Click (Settings icon for this field) Icon to view Properties pop-up.

Properties

This section contains the list of properties that can be used to configure the respective Effort widget's Title, Sub Title, Effort Level, Help Text, Rich Text, and Tooltip. To know more about the fields available under the Properties section, see Field Description below.

Field Description

This table contains the list of fields and their descriptions that are available under the Properties section: 

Field Description 
General

Title *

Specify the name for the Effort widget. 

Sub Title

Specifies the text that you want to display just beneath the Title. You may use it to describe the purpose of the control or the way it should be used.

Effort Level *

Select the desired effort level from the drop-down.

Informative
Help TextProvide a help text that gives the user an idea of the required format in a way to prevent input errors. It can be keywords to search the formula field.

Rich Text

Select it to enable the text as rich text and interpret as rich text. It allows the administrator to make the text in bold, italicized, etc.

Tooltip

Enter a suitable text as a tooltip. The tooltip is displayed when the user hovers the mouse cursor over the object/field/control.

Advance

This section contains the list of general features where options such as Include as Filter, Include as a column in grid view, and Show Clear icon can be enabled. To know more about the fields available under the section, see Field Description below.

This table contains the list of fields and their descriptions that are available under the Advance section:

Include as Filter

If this toggle button is enabled, then the respective control is available as a filter option on the Form Designer list page of the application.

Include as a column in grid view

If this toggle button is enabled, then the respective control is available in Grid view on the Form Designer list page of the application.

Show Clear Icon

If this toggle button is enabled, then a cross mark (x) is displayed against all the drop-down values selected from the respective control using which the user can clear the individual value.

Validations

The section contains the list of Validation setups that can be used to configure the respective control as mandatory, based on condition, and so on which are mentioned below.

General

Tenant

Select the desired Tenant from the drop-down.

Effort should be

Select one of the following options as per your requirement:
  • Mandatory - Select the Mandatory from the drop-down to make the control as mandatory control.
  • Disabled - Select Disabled from the drop-down to make the control as disabled control.

Below Conditions Meet

Select it if you want to display this control based on certain conditions. The following fields are displayed to configure the conditions:
Field - Select the field from the drop-down list on which the condition is to be applied.
Operator - Select the required operator from the displayed drop-down list.

Every TimeSelect it if you want to display this control always without any specific conditions or validations.

Appearance 

This section contains the Appearance setups that can be used to configure the look and feel of the respective control such as font type, color, size and so on. To know more about the fields available under the Appearance section, see Field Description below.

This table contains the list of fields and their descriptions that are available under the Appearance section:

General

Label Layout

Select the required label layout position for the text box control. The available options are:
  • Vertical - If selected, the label layout is displayed at top of the field. 
  • Horizontal - If selected, the label layout is displayed in front of the field. 
  • Float - If selected, the floating labels move inside the textbox as you enter information. 

Upload Icon

Icons can be assigned to the selected attribute.
On clicking the button, a pop-up displays to browse. Select the required icon.

Icon Position

Specify the position of the icon. It can be either to the left or the right of the control.
  • Left: If selected, the icon is displayed at the left of the attribute name.
  • Right: If selected, the icon is displayed at the right of the attribute name.
Text
Font TypeSelect the type of the font from the drop-down list of available options of font type.

Font Color

Select the type of the font color from the color widget from the provided set of color options. Click  option to select the required color from the displayed color widget. A sample screenshot is shown below:

Font Size

Select the size of the font from the drop-down list of available options of font type using upwards or downwards arrows. A sample screenshot is shown below:

You can also use a horizontal slider to increase or decrease the font size. 

Font StyleSelect the type of the font from the drop-down list of available options of font type.

Security

This section contains the list of Security setups that can be used to configure the respective control as Restrict field access and Encrypted. To know more about the fields available under the Security section, see Field Description below.

General

Restrict field access

If this field is enabled, access to the Effort field can be restricted.

Encrypted

Select it to encrypt the sensitive information about the data of your control.
