Article summary

The term "master type" refers to the Classification or categorization of different types of master data within the Common Master. For example, in a Common Master dataset for employees, you might have different master types such as "Employee Personal Information," "Employee Contact Details," "Employee Job History," etc. Each master type contains specific attributes or fields related to that Category of master data.  

Add Master Type

This is the first step in defining a Master Type. It can be configured by adding a unique name and Description to explain the purpose of your new Master Type.

Notes

  1. The Master Type name has a character limit of 200 characters, providing flexibility in naming the Master Value.

  2. The Master Type name may include special characters such as $, &, (, ), _, and -. If any other special character is entered, a validation message is displayed.

  3. If the Master Type name contains more than 200 characters, a validation message is displayed.

Field

Description

Master Type

Enter a name for the Master Type.

Note: You can enter a maximum of 200 characters for each Master Type, including special characters such as $, &, (, ), _, and -.

For Example: Master Type for Comprehensive Inventory Management (1&2)

Parent

Select a Parent for the Master Type from the Parent dropdown.

Sort Order

Specify a sort order value of your choice. This should be a numeric value. There will be a default sort order value (1) displayed.

Active

Enable the Active button to activate or disable the Active button to deactivate the Role Template.

Post entering all the details, click Next to move to the next screen.
