This classification facilitates more effective reporting and analysis by streamlining the resolution process and aiding in the efficient organization, prioritization, and response to incidents.

Use Case
User Persona: Administrator
Solution
NovaTech is faced with a scenario where the server hosting critical applications has stopped responding. This can be resolved by updating the incident with the relevant classification so that it can be assigned to the relevant workgroup or team. The issue is one with high severity and impact and thus requires utmost priority in terms of resolution.  With proper Classification, there would be better handling of incidents in terms of identification thus promoting better incident management.  

Configure Classification

1.    Navigate to Design Studio > Module > Configuration > Incident Masters > Classification

2.    Select the Tenant from the drop-down list. The Incident Classification will be displayed.

3. Right-click the Incident Classification and a pop up is displayed. For more information on the pop-up list, refer to the table below.

FieldDescription

Create Root Node
Click this option to create a new Root Node/Parent Classification at the top of the configured Node/Category list.
Create Child NodeClick this option to create a Child Node/Classification for the Node/Classification selected.
Rename Click this option to rename a Node/Classification.
ActivateClick this option to activate a Node/Classification.
Set as DefaultClick this option to set a Node/Classification as default Node/Classification.
Add IconSelect the option to add an icon to the Classification.
Add DescriptionChoose the option to add a description to the Classification.

4.    Select the appropriate Classification and click Save.
