Asset Type configuration allows you to organize assets based on their characteristics, usage, and other relevant criteria. This configuration enables streamlining asset tracking, maintenance, and reporting.
Example: Fixed Assets, Accessories, Consumables, and Software.
Let's explore the following use case!
Use Case User Persona: Administrator | Solution |
NovaTech, a growing company manages a diverse range of IT assets, including Fixed Assets, Accessories, Consumables, and Software components. To enhance their asset management practices, they need to implement a configuration in their IT asset management system to enhance categorization and tracking. | Sandra, the Administrator configures various types of assets using Asset Type configuration. The asset types will be configured for the particular Tenant. |
Configure Asset Type
To configure Asset Type, perform the following steps:
- Navigate to Design Studio > Asset Management Module > Configurations > Configurations > Asset Type.
The Asset Type List page is displayed. Click New to create a new configuration.
Figure: Asset Type List page - Select the required Tenant from the drop-down. Mention the name of the Asset Type as per the requirement and click Save to save the configuration.

Field Description
This table contains the list of fields and their descriptions that are available under the Asset Type Details page:
Field | Description |
---|---|
Tenant * | Select the desired Tenant from the list. This is a mandatory field. For more information, refer to Tenant. |
Asset Type | Specify the Asset Type which you wish to create for the selected Tenant. |
