Article summary

Deactivating software involves removing or disabling a software application from active use within an organization's computing environment, often for reasons such as cost optimization, license compliance, security concerns, or changes in business requirements.
Reactivating software refers to the process of restoring access to a previously deactivated or disabled software application, typically in response to shifts in business needs, user requirements, or software usage patterns.

This process allows for efficient resource allocation by reallocating licenses from inactive users or devices, optimizing license usage and potentially reducing costs for organizations. Additionally, it ensures compliance with licensing agreements by actively managing software entitlements.
