Empower your assets' journey with Location Manager Mapping!

Location Manager refers to an individual responsible for overseeing the physical locations and movements of IT assets within an organization. Key responsibilities of a location manager in IT asset management include:

  • Asset Inventory Management
  • Physical Location Tracking
  • Asset Allocation and Assignment
  • Asset Auditing, Compliance, Disposal, and Decommissioning

Location Manager Mapping typically refers to the process of associating or mapping Location Managers to physical locations within an organization to specific IT assets. This mapping helps IT administrators and asset managers keep track of where each asset is located, facilitating inventory management, asset tracking, and maintenance activities.
This involves mapping a Location Manager and Location HOD to a particular Location for the required Tenant.

Let's explore the following use case!
Use Case
User Persona: Administrator
Solution
NovaTech faces challenges in efficiently managing IT assets across various departments and locations. Without a structured system in place, tracking asset location, allocation, and utilization becomes cumbersome and inefficient.

This lack of oversight might lead to potential issues such as asset misplacement, underutilization, and difficulty in asset maintenance.
Sandra, the Administrator can implement a Location based Manager Mapping system to address these challenges.
Using the Location Manager Mapping configuration, she can map a Location Manager and a  Location HOD to a particular Location for the required Tenant.

Location Manager oversees asset tracking, allocation, and movement between locations, while the Location HOD manages assets within their department and ensures better tracking and utilization of IT assets.
