Navigation Overview

This section contains the overview of default system and Admin capabilities under the Platform layer. Refer to the below illustration.

Custom Role Configuration

It is essential to map a Role and Role Template to a Domain since they are connected to a group of Modules and Tenants. Mapping users to the same Domain as specified by the Role Template enables their access to the Modules and Tenants based on the configuration settings defined within the Role Template.

This section contains the details of the System Capabilities under Platform layer.

Prerequisites

  • Select the Domain and Sub-Domain for configuring the Role.

Configure Roles at Platform level

To configure Roles, perform the following steps:

  1.  Navigate to Platform Studio > Access Control Center > Roles.
  2. Add a new role by clicking the Add Role on the role creation page. You can view the properties shown in the screenshot.Figure: Roles
    Note

    Global Domain, Global Sub Domain with customer name should be available under the Platform layer.


  3. Create Roles at the Platform level with Role Type as Super Admin or App Designer.

  4. Select Super Administrator as Role Name with Role Type as Super Admin is selected and fill in the mandatory field details.Figure: Roles and role types

  5. If ITSM App Designer or ITAM App Designer roles are created for ITSM or ITAM application, then the Role Type is selected as Application Designer.Figure: Application Designer

  6.  Describe the Role in the Description text area.

  7.  Upload an icon to Role by using the Upload Icon tab. You can define the order in which the created role must be displayed on the list page through the Sort Order field.
     
  8. Check the Role as Active as required by clicking the Active switch.

Edit Roles

To edit the Roles under the Platform layer, perform the following steps:

  1.  Navigate to Roles and click the ID under the Add Roles page.

  2. Edit the field values on the Role creation page. You can view the properties shown in the screenshot.Figure: Roles

  3. Click Update to save the changes for the Roles.
