Article summary

Overview

The purpose of this document is to explain the scenario based template that target the user persona as such (End User, Analyst, and Approver) when a notification about the Service Request is sent to the user.

Configure SR Notification Template 

When the logged Service Request is approved, a notification must be sent to the Requestor and Approver to notify about the status of the approval. This component feature is available on the designer as Approval Grid that provides the details about the approval status.

Note
The requestor can be either End User or Analyst.

To achieve this, the Application Designer creates a Template named Service Request Approved Notification: Requestor & Approver which can be used as an Email while sending notification. This Email template consists a message regarding the notification, details about the SR and Approval. 

To configure a Service Request Notification Template, perform the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Design Studio > Module >  Service Request > Notification Designer.
    A list of notification templates is displayed.

  2.  Click New.
    A new template configuration screen is displayed.

  3. Enter the General details as displayed in the following screen.

  4.  Select the Medium and click Next. For more details, refer to Medium.

  5.  Enter the details, drag and drop the Grid, Approval Grid, and records from Manage Service Request Table as explained in the following Template for an Email Template.

  6. Click Preview to view the template as an email.

    The components used in the Email Template are explained in the following table:
    FieldDescription
    Subject
    IDEnter the subject ID as Service Request is Approved!. This will provide the first details about the email, indicating that the SR is approved. 
    Email Body
    Table Selection: SR ID, Communication Log, Notes for Self and Message Select the Table named Manage Service Requests,drag and drop the following Table records on the Email Body.
    • SR ID
    • Communication Log
    • Notes for Self
    • Message 
    These records will gather the data from the Table when used as Template.
    which will act as Dairy Field for the Analyst with the latest log.

     Grid: Basic SR Details (SV) <->Configure a horizontal grid named Basic SR Details (SV) and drag the component on the email body.

    Approval Grid: Approval Grid Drag and drop Approval Grid on the email body. Only once this grid can be on the template.
    Notification Element: SignatureConfiguration Notification Element named Signature.

  7. Click Next.
    Summary page is displayed.

  8.  Review the details and click Submit.
    The configured template is displayed on the list page and ready to use.
