Notification Elements

Article summary

All the notification elements are individual components of a notification, which can be configured to comprise the granular-level elements such as contact cards, user details, time stamps of events and more. Notification Elements allows the {{variable.Role - Application Designer}} to add new elements which support .rtf (rich text format) and more design components.

To configure the components in the notification elements, perform the following steps:

  1. Select Notification Elements to configure single chip elements.
    The system provides default notification elements which you can use on the notifications templates. along with an option to add a new element.

    Default Notification Elements

    Following are the default Notification Elements which is provided by the System.

    • Notification Name

    • Notification Description

    • Tenant

    • Current Date

    • Current Time

    • Current DateTime

    • Notification Created By

    • Notification Created DateTime

    • Notification Updated By

    • Notification Updated DateTime

  2. Click +Add New to configure a new notification element.

  3. Configuration screen to add a new element is displayed.

    For the Field Description, refer to the following:

    Field

    Description

    Notification Element Name*

    Enter the name of the notification element that is unique and the field accepts alphanumeric values.

    Note

    If the notification element name is repeated from the list an error message is displayed.

    Description*

    Describe the element, the Application Designer can apply rich text formatting in the description field which provides menu bar options to format the content.

    Attachment

    Click +Choose button to insert a attachment to the notification element. Single or multiple attachments can be added.

    Active

    Indicate that the notification element is active when the control switch is enabled. This enabled element will be available to use on the SMS body of the notification template.

  4. Enter the appropriate details in the required fields and click Submit.
    The configured element is added to the Notification Element list.

  5. Drag and drop the component from the Notification Element in the SMS Body.

    Notes

    • Upon configuring the notification element, you can move the notification element across the list.

    • Hover the mouse on the  vertical ellipsis   icon and an option to edit the element is displayed, click Edit to change the configuration.

    Make the required changes and click Update to take the change effect. Click Cancel to revert back to the Notification.

Time related components from Notification Elements on SMS

All the Time related components from the record display Time zone name on the date-time field based on the record Created By. This apply to notifications generated by Workflow Designer, Business Rule Designer and Scheduler which uses SMS components from left panel in the designer such as Notification Elements (single chip that’s static elements), Popover Form Elements, Grids (Horizontal and Vertical), Approval Grids, and Multi-Value group grid.
