Overview

Update Set is an automation process performed by the Super Admin at the Platform Level, to port the pre-production instance’s data to the production instance.

First, let’s understand what’s in the Pre-Production instance.

A pre-production instance is where all the metadata resides. That includes configuration, master data configuration, authentication, forms, workflows, business rules, and adding admin form values such as priority values, classification, etc.

To port the data from the pre-production instance to the production instance Update Set is used. This is available at the Platform layer and is applicable for the entire instance.

The Update Set has two functionalities as follows:

• Export: This functionality will port the pre-production instance’s data into a blob file.

• Import: This action will perform the activity of inserting the data from the obtained blob link into the production instance. This brings pre-prod and prod instances to the state of equality.

Note

The Update Set functionality works only for MSSQL Database.
