Cleansing - Hardware Template Report

Prev Next

The Cleansing – Hardware Template report presents a detailed overview of hardware and system attributes for all inventoried devices, facilitating data cleansing and validation processes. It enables organizations to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of device information in line with IT Service Management (ITSM) practices and compliance requirements.

Usage

It delivers a validated and comprehensive inventory of hardware assets, supporting thorough data cleansing, precise asset tracking, and informed decision-making. This ensures alignment with IT Service Management (ITSM) best practices and enhances organizational efficiency and compliance.

Example

Before performing a quarterly asset data audit, the IT Asset Management team opens the Cleansing – Hardware Template report to assess device attributes such as domain name, IP address, make, model, serial number, RAM, CPU details, operating system, and platform.

During the review, the team discovers several entries with missing serial numbers and outdated OS information. This enables them to correct the data ahead of compliance checks, avoiding discrepancies and ensuring smooth audit operations.

Accurate and cleansed data results in consistent reporting, improved planning, and reduced operational risks.

Steps:

To view the Cleansing – Hardware Template report, perform the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Reports > Asset Management. The Dashboards page is displayed. Search or select Cleansing – Hardware Template from the dashboard list.
