Microsoft On-Premise AD Import
The process of importing data into Active Directory (AD), a directory service created by Microsoft for Windows domain networks, is commonly referred to as AD import. Within a network environment, Active Directory is used to store data about machines, groups, users, and other resources. It is necessary to keep a Windows-based network environment's directory service structured and current.
AD Import can involve the following activities

Microsoft Entra ID User Import
Active Directory is usually used for resource management, user authentication, and centralized network administration. The process of "importing" Active Directory may entail a number of steps, including synchronizing user data, establishing access rights, and integrating it with another system.
Importing users from cloud is a two-step process
1. Configure the relevant API (Microsoft Entra ID) in the API Configuration
2. Configure the Scheduler to run the job
