Example

During quarterly compliance review, the IT team identifies that the Finance business unit is over-licensed for a reporting tool while the Engineering unit shows a license shortfall.     Manufacturer

    Specifies the vendor of the software (e.g., A.E.T Europe, Adobe).

    Product

    Specifies the software product being tracked (example; SafeSign, Acrobat)

    Version

    Specifies the version of the product installed or used.

    Discovered Metric

    Specifies the unit of measurement (e.g., per device, per user, per core).

    Usage Quality

    Specifies the actual measured usage, such as installations, users, or cores.

    Licenses Allocated

    Specifies the number of valid licenses applied to cover usage.

    License Metric

    Specifies the metric under which the license is tracked.

    Available

    Specifies the number of entitlements or licenses available for allocation.

    Compliance

    - Specifies whether the business unit is compliant, calculated as Licenses Allocated – Usage Quantity (positive = compliant, negative = non‑compliant).

    Estimated Shortfall Cost

    Specifies the cost required to remediate non‑compliance by procuring missing licenses.

    Estimated Overspend

    Specifies the potential waste in cost if surplus licenses remain unused.

    Currency

    Specifies the monetary unit used for cost calculation
