Microsoft EA- Eligible Devices Detail

This Eligible Devices Detail (Microsoft EA) report offers comprehensive insights into each individual device that qualifies for inclusion under the Microsoft Enterprise Agreement (EA). It presents detailed data regarding the physical or geographical location of every device, their operational environment—such as whether they function as desktops or servers—and their current installation status. By providing this level of granularity, the report enables organizations to effectively track and manage EA-eligible devices, supporting informed decision-making and ensuring compliance with licensing requirements.

Example

During a Microsoft Enterprise Agreement true-up cycle, the Asset Management team uses the Eligible Devices Detail (Microsoft EA) report to identify all qualifying desktops and servers across branch offices and data centers to ensure accurate license counting and avoid compliance penalties. This report also helps infrastructure managers validate installation status before onboarding new devices, enabling proactive license planning and cost optimization under the EA contract.

Steps:

To view the Microsoft EA- Eligible Devices Detail report, perform the following steps:

1. Navigate to Reports > Asset Management > Search or Select the report name.
   The Dashboards page is displayed.

3. The following table lists the key report fields, along with concise descriptions.

   Field	Description
   Country of Use	Specifies the country where the device is deployed or operated.
   Environment	Specifies the device’s operational context, such as desktop or server.
   Asset Name	Specifies the unique name or identifier assigned to the device.
   Device Type	Specifies the classification category assigned to the device, such as desktop, laptop, or server.
   Host Name	Specifies the network‑assigned name used to identify the device.
   Bookmark	Specifies a custom label or grouping used to categorize the device for reporting purposes.
   Has Installs	Specifies whether the device has Microsoft software installations relevant to the Enterprise Agreement (EA).
