Skills and workflows are grouped together to automate tasks based on requirements. These Skills are executed on specific AD servers or exchange servers using a proxy service called the Execution Service.
This execution service is a separate Windows application that runs as a service on the target machine. To summarize, Proxy manage the execution of Skills on the target machine, which automates tasks and eliminates manual execution of Skills. Proxy configuration is the setup and configuration of a Proxy Server or gateway to manage communication between various distributed system components. A proxy server acts as an intermediary, transmitting requests and responses between two or more components.
To view Proxy option, perform the following steps:
Navigate to SA > Configuration > Proxy.
Click on the Host Name hyperlink in the proxy list page to view the Proxy IP Mapping.
For more information on the actions, refer to Actions on Proxy List page.

Figure: Proxy
This page provides information about the machines and their status where the Service Automation Proxy is installed. The proxy list will be displayed based on the logged-in user’s domain access, also known as multi-tenant data. Displays the total number of proxy hosts and the corresponding number of up(active) proxies and down (inactive) proxies.Note
Proxy page will support multi-tenant to serve multiple customers, each one of them being isolated in terms of data. Using the Multi-tenant feature, the Managed Service Providers (MSP) or Global Domain can make sure that the user’s data of one domain is not accessible to another.
Following table describes the column description on the list page:
Column
Description
Host Name
The unique name of the proxy host or server. This typically represents the machine name where the proxy service is installed and running. Selecting the host name usually allows navigation to detailed proxy information.
IP Address
The network IP address assigned to the proxy host. This is used for network communication and identification within the environment.
Status
Indicates the current operational status of the proxy. Possible values include Up, Down, or NA, representing whether the proxy service is reachable and functioning.
Last Communicated
The date and time when the proxy last successfully communicated with the central system or controller. This helps identify stale or inactive proxies.
ELS Status
Displays the status of the associated ELS (Endpoint Logging Service) for the proxy. Typical values include Up, Down, or blank if ELS is not applicable or not configured.
ELS Last Communicated
The most recent date and time the ELS component communicated successfully. This helps monitor ELS connectivity and health independently of the proxy status.
Environment Type
Identifies the deployment environment of the proxy, such as Prod, Non-Prod, Test, or Dev, helping users distinguish between environments at a glance.
Proxy Mapping is displayed, add new proxy mapping or edit the required changes and click Submit.

Figure: Proxy Mapping
The following table provides field description on the proxy mapping page.Field
Description
Proxy Name
A drop-down field used to select the proxy server to which IP ranges will be mapped. Only available and active proxies are listed. The selected proxy will handle requests originating from the defined IP ranges.
From
Specifies the starting IP address of the range to be mapped to the selected proxy. Requests originating from this IP address or higher (within the range) will be routed through the proxy.
To
Specifies the ending IP address of the range. Together with the From field, this defines the complete inclusive IP address range mapped to the proxy.
Action
Provides controls to manage IP range entries:
• Add icon to add a new IP range mapping row.
• Delete icon to remove an existing IP range mapping.
Page Action
Submit
Saves the proxy-to-IP range mappings and applies the configuration.
Cancel
Discards any unsaved changes and returns to the previous page without updating the proxy mappings.
Note
Proxy IP Mapping specifies that a particular proxy manages that particular range of IP addresses. This is defined using the Proxy mapping screen.
Actions on the Proxy List page
Following are the list of actions perform through the right panel of Proxy List page:
Action | Description |
|---|---|
Filters | Opens the filter panel, allowing users to refine the proxy list based on specific criteria such as Host Name, Status, Environment Type, or other available attributes. This helps narrow down results for faster analysis and troubleshooting. |
Configure Columns | Allows users to customize the table layout by showing or hiding columns. This enables a personalized view of the proxy list based on user preferences or role-specific requirements. |
Export to Excel | Exports the currently displayed proxy data (including applied filters and selected columns) into an Excel file. This is useful for reporting, auditing, or offline analysis. |
Actions on Proxy Mapping
Following are the list of actions performed on the Proxy Mapping page.
Action | Description |
|---|---|
Show List | Navigates back to the Proxy Mapping list view, displaying all existing proxy-to-IP range mappings. This is useful for reviewing or selecting other mappings without saving current changes. |
Import from Existing | Allows users to import IP range mappings from an already configured proxy. This helps reuse configurations and reduces manual data entry when similar mappings are required for multiple proxies. |
Import from JSON | Enables users to upload a JSON file containing proxy mapping definitions. This supports bulk configuration and faster setup using predefined mapping files. |
Export to JSON | Exports the current proxy mapping configuration, including selected proxy and IP ranges, into a JSON file. This is useful for backup, migration, or reuse across environments. |
