The Software Installation Details Report provides a consolidated summary of all software installed across the organization. It displays the software name, vendor, installation count, and allows users to drill down into detailed installation data per asset.

Admins and Analysts can access the report according to their assigned role-based privileges.

Usage

  • View organization-wide visibility of software installation counts

  • Identify frequently or rarely installed software

  • Track unauthorized or excessive installations and license compliance issues

  • Review normalized software categories based on publisher metadata

Example

During a quarterly software license compliance audit, the Asset Management team wants to analyze the installation volume of Microsoft Visio Professional across the organization. They navigate to the Software Installation Details Report. The report displays the total installation count along with vendor and category details.

View Report

To view the report, perform the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Reports > Asset Management > Software Installation Insights Dashboard.
    The Dashboards page is displayed.

  2. Click Software Installation Insights Dashboard to view Software Installation Details Report.

    You are enabled to search the required asset using the Search text box.

    The following table describes the column displayed on the Software Installation Details Report.

    Column

    Description

    Asset_ID

    Displays the unique identifier assigned to the asset.

    Asset_Code

    Shows the internal or inventory code mapped to the asset.

    Machine_Host_Name

    Displays the host name of the machine where the software is installed.

    Machine_Serial_Number

    Shows the machine’s hardware serial number.

    Asset_Category

    Indicates the category of the asset (example: Laptop, Desktop).

    Asset_Status

    Displays the current status of the asset (example: Allocated).

    Asset_Condition

    Indicates the physical or operational condition of the asset (example: Good).

    Store

    Shows the store or physical storage location associated with the asset.

    Location

    Displays the geographical or site location (Country/City/Site).

    User_Name

    Shows the name of the user allocated to the asset.

    Employee_ID

    Displays the unique employee identifier associated with the user.

    User_Email_ID

    Shows the email ID of the user linked to the asset.

    Software_Name

    Displays the name of the installed software.

    Software_Vendor

    Indicates the vendor or publisher of the software.

    Software_Version

    Shows the installed version of the software, if available.

    Installation_Detected_Date

    Displays the date when the software installation was detected in the system.

    Last_Used_Date

    Shows the last known usage date of the software (if applicable).

    Last_Updated_Date

    Indicates when the asset or software data was last updated.

    Installation_Location

    Displays the location path or system source from where the software was installed (if applicable).

  3. You can perform the following actions on the Report using the vertical ellipsis.

    Menu Option

    Action

    Force refresh

    Ensures that the most up-to-date values are displayed.

    Enter fullscreen

    Displays the Report in full screen for better visibility and presentation.

    View query

    To view the actual query which is used to run the report.

    View as table

    Switches the visual view to a data grid or tabular view.

    Search the Data using Search text box on the top.

    Edit the chart using Edit Chart option at the bottom right of the page.

    Share

    Share the report by email or copy the permalink to clipboard.

    Download

    Download the report as an image or export to .CSV or Excel.

Filters

Use the filters such as Software Name, Software Vendor, Asset ID, Machine Host Name, or Asset_Category in order to display the filtered data on the Report as per your requirement.
