Solution
Nova Retail wants to keep track of its inventory of electronic devices, such as laptops, smartphones, and tablets. They want to understand the purpose of each device in their inventory to manage stock levels efficiently and ensure they meet customer demand.Sandra can utilize Asset Purpose configuration to define the purposes of each electronic device based on its intended use.

For example:
  • Laptops: Display for in-store demonstrations
  • Smartphones: Available for customer testing
  • Tablets: Used as point-of-sale (POS) devices for transactions

Configure Asset Purpose

To configure Asset Purpose, perform the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Design Studio > Asset Management Module > Configurations > Asset Masters > Asset Purpose. The Asset Purpose List page is displayed with already configured records.
    Click New to configure a new Asset Purpose.

  2.  On the new configuration page, provide all the required details as shown below and click Save. For more information on fields, refer to Field Description table below.

    The saved configuration will be displayed on the List page.

Field Description

This table contains the list of fields and their descriptions that are available under the Asset Purpose page:

Tenant

Select the Tenant for which you wish to configure the Asset Usage type.

PurposeSpecify the purpose of the asset for which you are defining its use.
Sort OrderChoose the sorting order for displaying or listing Asset Purpose records.
DefaultSelect the Default check box to set the particular record as the default display.
ActiveSelect the Active check box to set the particular configuration's status as active.
