The Software License by Status Report provides a consolidated view of software licenses categorized by their current status (such as In Stock, Allocated, and Inactive) across different locations, enabling better visibility into license distribution and availability.
Report Usage
This report is used to monitor license distribution, identify unused or inactive licenses, and optimize allocation to support service requests while reducing unnecessary procurement.
Example
An IT Asset Manager uses this report to identify inactive SQL Server licenses and reallocates them to fulfill pending user requests instead of purchasing new licenses.
Steps
To view the Software License by Status Report, perform the following steps:
Navigate to Reports > Asset Management to open the dashboards page. Search for Software License by Status Report from the Dashboard list.

Filters
Use filter icon
to refine the report results based on selected criteria and display only relevant records

Enter the details as described in the following table and click Apply filters to view the report or Clear all to reset the filters.
